Are we truly listening to our bodies? When the body produces symptoms, do you just pop a pill or do you try to figure out what the body is trying to tell? Usually, a symptom is the result of the body’s attempt to meet certain environmental challenge. The natural tendency of the body is to go back to balance; however, it may sometimes run out of resources and that’s when the body rings alarms. How are we responding to these warnings/alerts? Are we just shutting down alarms by popping pills or are we seeking ways to support the body’s inner healer so that it can go back to balance?
To regain body wisdom, we need to understand how environmental stress 
affects the body, and what can we do to counteract the effects of stress. Modern life has multiplied the number of stressors: electromagnetic,chemical, biological, emotional, physical, mental. Sometimes there is nothing we can do to avoid these challenges. However, we can adopt a lifestyle that counteracts stress and supports the body in its efforts to maintain health. 
Nutrition, physical activity and stress management are basic pillars in which our health is supported. An antioxidant-rich nutrition can offset the effects of free radicals, an important deleterious byproduct of stress. Physical activity balances hormone release, boosts mood and helps to prevent cancer. Meditation, relaxation, Reiki, and healthy relationships are all resources we may use to manage stress and stay balanced.
A
dopting a healthy lifestyle doesn’t involve countless sacrifices. It just requires higher awareness. How can we adopt a really mindful, healthy lifestyle? The purpose of the Regain Body Wisdom show is to inform and educate so that you can make informed decisions.

Reiki Master/Teacher, QiGong practitioner, and Holistic psychotherapist, Silvia Casabianca authored Regaining Body Wisdom: A multidimensional Approach (2008). She graduated as a Medical doctor in 1972 and practiced Medicine in Colombia for 28 years. She has a Master in Art Therapy from Concordia University (Canada). Presently she is the Chair of the Web of Holistic Educators – WHOLE. 
She also authored El fin de la Enfermedad. Otra visión del cuerpo humano (Colombia, 2005, and Spain, 2008), Spanish version of Regaining Body Wisdom. She published Si el arco falla, la flecha no volará, a book on Adolescence as a second opportunity for ego maturation and the use of Art Therapy with adolescents (1997), and Stress management for Massage Therapists (also available in Spanish). Silvia Casabianca has featured articles and columns for different local papers in Southwest Florida.
