Alfonzo Churchwell
We’re starting off our list this week with a career criminal who’s dodging brand new local and federal warrants for his arrest. Alfonzo Churchwell was added to Crime Stoppers 10 Most Wanted list this week for weapons charges, filing a false report, and violating terms of his federal probation for the sale and delivery of drugs. Last month, detectives attempted to pull Churchwell over for a traffic stop, but instead of complying, Churchwell opted to take off and ditch his car in a stranger’s front yard before fleeing on foot. Video from the home clearly showed Churchwell creeping out of the car carrying a black handgun with an extended magazine. A few days later, Churchwell called Fort Myers Police to report that his car had been stolen, in an attempt to provide an alibi for previous actions. While Churchwell’s false claims were nothing short of a lie, the video showed nothing but the truth, with proof that Churchwell
was illegally in possession of a weapon, and had filed a false report. Now, this Fort Myers felon is high atop the radar of the US Marshals, who have launched a statewide search in his honor. Churchwell has an extensive criminal history, with three stints in prison on top of his local jail time in Lee and Charlotte Counties. He is 44 years old, 5’7”, and was last known to be lying low in Dunbar.
Daniel Maheux
Next up is a guy who was seriously impaired behind the wheel when he caused an awful crash that left a local woman in the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Witnesses watched as Daniel Maheux barreled through a red light at a busy intersection on US 41, slamming into another driver, trapping the victim inside her car. When deputies arrived minutes later, they found Maheux reeking of alcohol and speaking incoherently. When they asked if he’d been drinking Maheux gave the standard response of just two or three, however, his actions proved different. He was ultimately found guilty of drunk driving causing a crash with serious injuries and spent just over three years in prison. He’s been out less than a year, and already he’s wanted for violating his probation. Maheux is 5’10”, 215 pounds, and was last known to be living in Estero.
Ervin Parker
Also on the run this week is Ervin Lee Parker, a North Fort Myers man who has already been booked 27 times before in the Lee County Jail and shows no signs of stopping now. A new warrant for his arrest was issued last week after he violated probation on burglary and grand theft charges. Detectives say Parker broke into a North Fort Myers home and stole a television set, among other things. Shortly thereafter, he was spotted just down the road carrying the TV and asking passers-by if they wanted to buy it. It didn’t take long to put two and two together and link the burglary right back to Parker. Over the years, this 43-year-old offender has been
busted for grand theft auto, dealing in stolen property, drugs, battery/domestic violence, robbery, fraud, and a sexual offense against a child. He is 5’11”, 130 pounds, and is known to have gang affiliations. He’s got several tattoos, including “Thug life” inked on his left arm, praying hands on his chest, serenity written on his back, and tribal art on his neck. And upon his arrest, Parker will be held without bond.
Nolan Riel
And last but certainly not least is a guy who’s pulled a page right out of the stupid criminal handbook. A brand new warrant for the arrest of Nolan Riel was issued last week after he violated probation following an arrest for resisting officers with violence. Deputies were initially called to the Bell Tower Mall for a suspicious person who was doing push-ups in the middle of the road, nearly getting run over by oncoming traffic. Upon their arrival, they saw that Riel had a can of an alcohol-infused energy drink at his side. He immediately became confrontational and it ultimately took four deputies to get him under control. After spending five months
behind bars for his actions, he was released on probation which he has now violated. 28-year-old Riel is 5’10”, 200 pounds, and was last known to be living near Pine Manor. He has several unusual tattoos, including an eyeball with legs on his left arm, his last name on his fingers, and a collection of symbols and letters on his face. And upon his arrest, Riel will be held without bond in the Lee County Jail.
