LEE COUNTY, Fla. – There are plans to build a new hospital in Lee County.
Construction for the 100-bed acute care hospital is expected to begin next year at 3581 Colonial Blvd in Fort Myers.
HCA Healthcare currently has 47 hospitals in the state of Florida.
NBC2 confirms the organization has been looking for a place in Lee County “for a while.”
HCA Healthcare said they chose this location for a number of reasons, including the size of land, access and community needs.
The 275,870 square foot facility is projected to be on 40 acres of land, 4 stories, with 100 beds at opening.
Construction plans are slated to begin next year with the project expected to be completed in 2025.
