COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — Brooks Burgers in Collier County has deployed four robots at their restaurants because of staffing shortages.
“We have had a for hiring sign up now for 6 months and we still have positions open in all of our restaurants,” owner of Brooks Burgers Todd Brooks said. “We are really in a position where we were opening our restaurant and having 30 to 40 percent of it closed because we were understaffed.”
Brooks said he has tried everything.
“We have increased everything our pay for our staff is up 20 percent across the board and we have given every single employee that we have a raise,” Brooks said.
So now, robots help servers deliver food directly to your table to keep the staff Brooks does have from getting overwhelmed.
“They are very helpful and they help everybody around us,” server Danielle McConnell said.
The customers love them too.
“I would prefer a human staff to be honest with you but they are fun and it does help,” Brooks said.
Brooks is now wanting to help other restaurants that are struggling with staffing purchase a robot.
“If you want a robot or a job, contact me,” Brooks said.
