FORT MYERS, Fla – A suspect drunk driver has returned to jail to face new charges for a December 2021 crash.
Paul Kost was arrested on December 8th, suspected of drunkenly triggering a three-car crash at U.S. 41 and Fowler in Fort Myers.
A 99-year old woman was injured in the wreck. Weeks later, she died.
It took investigators some time to determine if the woman died of natural causes, given her age, or from the injuries sustained in the crash.
Ultimately, her death was ruled the result of the crash in December.
A warrant for Kost’s arrest was issued on March 3rd, and he was taken into custody Thursday morning.
In addition to the three original DUI-related charges against Kost, he now faces a fourth charge of DUI vehicular homicide/negligent manslaughter.
