CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — A Port Charlotte teacher was arrested after deputies found a missing teen in her home.
Kelly Simpson, 31, was arrested for interfering with the custody of a minor after picking the teen up from an unknown location, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).
Investigators said she concealed him inside her home and knew about the teen’s missing endangered status.
CCSO said the juvenile was reported missing by his parents on August 12.
Simpson worked at Charlotte High School and was placed on administrative leave, according to Charlotte County Public Schools.
The investigation is ongoing.
