LEE COUNTY, Fla. — A Lee County man has been arrested in connection to the murder of a teen in Fort Myers early Saturday morning.
According to the Fort Myers Police Department (FMPD), at around 2:09 a.m., police responded to a disturbance in the area of 3718 Palm Beach Blvd.
Officers arrived to the scene where a victim identified as 19-year-old Miguel Lopez had been shot and was suffering from a single gun shot wound. Lopez died at the scene from his injuries.
Detectives began an investigation and were able to establish 48-year-old Kenneth Lynch Sr. as the primary suspect, based on witness interviews and video evidence from the scene, FMPD said. A warrant was granted for Lynch’s arrest.
On Tuesday, November 1, Lynch was found and arrested in Lehigh Acres.
Lynch faces charges of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was taken to the Lee County Jail.
