LEE COUNTY, Fla.– A local and rising NFL superstar is giving back to Southwest Florida.
De’vondre Campbell now plays for the Green Bay Packers as a linebacker. He’s also been with the Arizona Cardinals and Atlanta Falcons but comes home to help our underserved youth.
Over 150 kids attended his football camp today.
He graduated from Cypress Lake High School and has been hosting this event for several years.

Joey Mendes is the head football coach at Cypress Lake High School. He says this event is a great resource for the kids.
“I always love this event and you know just seeing the kids out here and having fun and our players having fun,” smiled Mendes.
Campbell said he has strong memories of playing on the same field when he was in high school.
“I just remember being on this field and it just brings back so many memories, and i also remember being in their position before and just wishing that i had somebody like myself to kinda come back and give me the ropes and just at least being able to pick their brains and get advice on what they did differently,” Campbell explained.
