CLEWISTON, Fla. — After Bob Rocque lost his wife, Vivian, he wanted one thing more than anything: to talk to her one more time.
The couple was married for 66 years until Vivian passed away in January. She had lived the last two decades of her life with Alzheimer’s disease.
Since Bob couldn’t talk to Vivian again, he hatched another plan to get “closer” to her. “For my 90th birthday, [I decided] to go skydiving,” Bob said.
With his son and grandsons, Bob suited up and made the dive in Clewiston. During his freefall down, he spoke to his late wife.
“Honey, I love you,” Bob said to Vivian. “I know she heard me… She knew how much I miss her.”
Upon landing, Bob described his experience as quiet, peaceful and beautiful. He has already made plans to do another jump.
