FORT MYERS, Fla. — Three neighbors were arrested over the weekend for kidnapping after they held a car full of people at gunpoint in Fort Myers.
According to arrest reports, it happened inside the Shadow Wood Preserve community on Parkside Greens Drive.
Matthew Pound (43), Kenneth Roy (63), and Kenneth Hansen (76) approached six people inside a car and blocked them from leaving.
Reports say Roy brandished his gun and pointed it at the victims, while Hansen tried getting inside the car.
The victims told deputies they were on their way to a community pavilion to shoot off fireworks. That’s when the song ‘Lean On Me’ came on and they started singing it out the windows.
Someone approached the group while they were at the pavilion, asking them why they were being loud, so they decided to leave.
Reports say it was on the ride home when Pound, Roy and Hansen confronted the car.
The three men face multiple charges including kidnapping.
