CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Jeffrey Rode has built a career out of a stinky job: picking up dog poop. For the past three years, he has done the work in dozens of backyards and at businesses across Southwest Florida.
“It’s always a treasure hunt,” Jeffrey said. “I love it,”
Jeffrey’s business “Poop Patrol” has dozens of clients. Along with his trusty “pooper scooper”, the Lehigh Acres man works his magic to clean up even the messiest of yards. And he prides himself on doing so with a good attitude.
“I couldn’t say enough good things about him,” Frank Lawlor, one of Jeffrey’s customer’s said. “If you think about it, he’s a poop guy [he could be] miserable. No, he’s not.”
Jeffrey applies that thinking to both his job and his life.
“I try to hit that with everything,” he said. “If you keep that up, things will be better. You always have to think of the bright side. Why dwell on what’s bad?”
