LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. – A local Pizza Hut is drying off after a man ripped the bathroom sink out of the wall, causing thousands in damage.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office showed up at the restaurant at 25 Homestead Road in Lehigh Acres after a report of a suspicious person.
Employees explained that the man walked into the Pizza Hut and asked to use the bathroom. After 30 minutes, one worker knocked on the door, asking if the man was alright.
That was when it was noticed that water was coming from the under the door and beginning to flood the lobby. The man was asked to leave and would end up sitting in a car in the parking lot.
Deputies arrived to find the entire front of the building overflowing with water, along with the bathroom which was now missing a sink. They were able to track down the man in the parking lot, noticing his clothes were soaking wet from his actions.
The Pizza Hut was forced to shut down for the day and estimated it would cost over $1,500 to repair the damage.
The man was taken to Lehigh Acres Regional Medical center for an evaluation.
