CAPE CORAL, Fla. — A social media threat made against Ida Baker High School on Sunday was not credible, police said.
School district officials decided to have extra law enforcement on hand Monday at IBHS to ease parents’ concerns.
The Cape Coral Police Department was made aware of the threat and is still actively investigating.
The principal of IBHS immediately sent out an email to parents and informed them of the threat that was made.
Read the email sent out to parents Sunday:
Dear Families,
This email is to inform you of a threat against our school that has been circulating on social media. We were made aware of the post and immediately contacted law enforcement. They have investigated and determined the posts to be false and not credible. School will continue as normal on Monday. To further ease parent concerns, there will be extra law enforcement presence on site.
