NAPLES, Fla. — Two men from Miami-Dade were arrested after their attempt to steal $1,000 worth of champagne from a Naples store went bottoms up.
According to the Naples Police Department (NPD), George Gonzalez (47) and Yasmay Gomez Amador (34) went to Wynn’s Market on May 23.
Gonzalez was seen walking into the market and stuffing multiple champagne bottles into his pants. NPD said he then left the store without paying and met up with Gomez Amador, the getaway driver.
NPD alongside the Collier County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) were able to find the duo as they tried to get on I-75 at Pine Ridge Road.
Gonzalez was arrested for retail grand theft and Gomez Amador was arrested for retail theft in coordination with others.
